What is atacamar?

Atacamar is the junction of the Spanish/Portuguese words “atacar” + “amar”, which can be translated as “to attack” and “to love”.
Does it mean attacking to love? Does it mean attacking the love? Alternatively, does it means the love who attacks you suddenly?
And when I mention love, it consist of loving in different ways. An act that escapes from mere romantic clichés, or the simply act of liking someone or something. It goes beyond the act of care and understand.
Amar is amar-te, amar-se and amar-nos not because we are people who just love everything or alone souls who pledge for love. We love in different manners to collide with the world and to let it be embraced by our limitations and mistakes. We love humanly and honestly, with the imperfections of our beings and with the subterraneous oceanic streams from our hearts.

At the same time, this is the word “Atacama” converted into a verb.
Atacama is the driest place on Earth. A place that leaves marks into you when you visit it.
A place located in the surrounding area where I was raised my first years. A place that projected me to other places. Yet, this conjugation (from Atacama to Atacamar) means the act of being converted into a desert and creating desert.
Deserts are hard places and empty at the first sight. However, they are locations where life and death encounter each other with greater magnitude. These are places where we truly see the world and ourselves. It is the place of reflection but also of discovering and learning.
Even the driest place is full of enchantment and alive manifestations. Here we try to “atacar+amar” and “atacamar”.
Through this beta project where music, arts, philosophy and politics diallogue, the neologism takes form to explore some aspects of being nomads and the labyrinths of living in our contemporary world.
